Pharmacist Position Pensacola Naval Hospital

We are excited to announce that we have a pharmacist opportunity available at the Naval Hospital Pensacola, FL.

The pharmacist will be supporting the military and their families.

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's or Doctorate in Pharmacy with ACPE accreditation.

Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in any of the 50 States, D.C., Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Have a working knowledge of pharmacy computer systems such as CHCS or AHLTA.

Candidate must possess either experience as a hospital pharmacist with a minimum of 6 months within the past 12 months or possess a degree from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited program within the past 18 months.

Candidate must also have clinical experience within the past 2 years in a comparable clinical setting.

The pharmacist will provide outpatient services, with occasional inpatient services required. Scheduling will be done on a flexible basis.

Pharmacist will deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical services within the personnel, supply, and equipment capabilities of the facility.

Counsel patients regarding appropriate use of medications.

Review patient profiles at the time of dispensing in order to closely monitor medication therapy.

Compound medications as required.

Ensure accuracy of all pharmaceutical products prepared or processed by technical staff.

Provide medication and health care related in service training to clinical staff.

Provide clinical direction of corpsmen and pharmacy technicians and provide input into job performance evaluations.

Document significant medication interactions and pharmacy interactions with prescribers.
Execute Drug Utilization Reviews (DURs) as deemed necessary.
